Stouffer's Frozen Entrees

Dear Nestle,

The packaging for Stouffer's frozen entrees claims "no preservatives" next to a large green leaf. I downloaded and read the literature, but could not find examples of the preservatives you now exclude.

Reading the ingredients list (of the meat lasagna, for example), many things
sound to me like preservatives - such as citric acid, calcium chloride,
modified corn starch, potassium chloride, autolyzed yeast extract, lactic
acid, calcium lactate, dextrose and soy oil.

If these are not preservatives, can you please list for me the ones that were removed?

Dear Miss Smith,

Thank you for contacting us recently about Nestle Canada. We value your
feedback and appreciate the time you took to share your comments with us.

The fact is, preservatives aren't necessary in frozen foods because freezing
does the job of preserving! At Stouffer's, we have all of our ingredients
made to order without preservatives, and have them frozen and shipped to us
immediately to ensure the best quality.

"The quality of the meal depends most on the quality of the food you start
with, which is why we use topnotch ingredients," explains Rita Palubinskas,
Stouffer's product developer.

"[Our freezing process] gets foods to a frozen state very quickly to lock in
goodness. Everything is at its peak when it gets to your table."

Dear Nestle,

Thank you for your response, however, I already came across this information
on your website.

In my query, I asked for a list of preservatives that are now excluded.

----

Dear Nestle,

Hello again! I have not heard back. Can you please advise how I may get a
list of preservative ingredients that are now excluded from frozen entrees?
This information is not available on your site.

Dear Ms. Smith,

Thank you for contacting us recently about Nestle Canada. We value your feedback and appreciate the time you took to share your comments with us.

We are unable to advise all the ingredients that our products do not contain. We are only able to advise ingredients that our products do contain and they are listed on the list of ingredients of every package.

Nestle does not have 'lists' of ingredients as products are continually changing and being improved.

Thank you once again for contacting us. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-800-387-4636, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
